Abstract

There is no doubt that the knowledge of medicinal plants, by the use that has been made of them throughout history, is broad. It is estimated that more than 80% of the World population continues to use it and in many cases without even waiting for its scientific validation as a medicinal resource. Therefore, this work has compiled the data obtained by more than 30 years of botanical explorations, analysis of the most diverse bibliographic sources and critical reviews of recognized herbarium material, which have allowed to establish the taxonomy, ecogeography, phenology and information ethnomedicinal (part of the plant used, form of preparation and medicinal uses) of 867 species of medicinal plants of Peru.
